We specialise in the diagnosis and management of specific walking, running and cycling biomechanical problems. With a background including clinical gait (movement pattern) analysis using 3-dimensional video analysis of treadmill running, and force-plate platform use, we have used many technologies yet return to the most simple to get the best results for our patients.
Research has shown that when you walk or run on a treadmill, the way you move changes significantly. Treadmill analysis may be a good way of showing you the pattern of problems, however to truly understand what actually happens in the real world, we go outside and actually see you running in your normal style.
Our vast experience in doing this, combined with a detailed mechanical examination in the consultation room allows us to get to the core of your problem- and hence improve not only your injury, but also your movement efficiency, and ultimately (wait for it...) speed.
See our "overuse injuries" management page for an idea of how we deal with some common problems.
