Bridget's passion for rehabilitation began during her first degree in Sports and Exercise Science. She observed Exercise Therapists treat patients affected by paralysis: “Every day I witnessed individuals pushing their physiological boundaries and surpassing their goals. I developed this burning desire to help others along their rehabilitation journey, enabling them to reach their fullest potential”.
Since completing her MSc in Sports Therapy, Bridget has specialised in assessing, treating and rehabilitating injured athletes. She has worked in a variety of clinics and sporting establishments, including Croydon Athletics, Watford Academy Football Club, and Chelsea Ladies Football Club Centre of Excellence.
Bridget’s hands-on approach includes massage, joint mobilizations and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Stretching. Bridget encourages your active involvement in all aspects of rehabilitation; advising on strength, posture and core stability exercises if appropriate.
Having completed research on the influence of personality styles and stress on sports injury, Bridget firmly believes, 'What you think is what you say, and what you say is what you do'. Her expertise in the stress-injury relationship means she places special emphasis on encouraging positive thinking during a period of injury.
Young Athletes
Bridget has extensive experience working with children and adolescents. She helps correct biomechanical problems as early as possible to ensure healthy growth. With ever increasing demands being made of young athletes, this is an area of huge concern. Any parents with concerns about the development or growth of their child should have them assessed without delay.
Bridget enjoys horse riding, snowboarding, running and cycling. She also takes part in a weekly military-style boot camp and competes in 10k, half marathon and a sprint triathlon events.
