You can follow Dr Duffy’s progress mountainbiking in Moab, climbing in the Rockies, and studying in Colorado Springs on twitter@glennduffy and the Care for Health facebook page.
With an original degree in Sports Rehabilitation, Dr Duffy is the co-founder and now practice principal at Care for Health, with a reputation for excellence built up over nearly a decade of practice.
With his MSc in Chiropractic, he now specialises in back and neck complaints, chronic sports and lower limb injuries, and expert Biomechanical Analysis. In particular he deals with walking, running and cycling injuries for recreational to professional level athletes, and over 40% of his practice time is given to lower limb injuries and Orthotics prescription for all patient types. Much of that is spent examining the biomechanics of sporty teenagers to ensure they can enjoy a trouble-free and fulfilled childhood.
Following his eight years of study, he published research on pelvic biomechanics, lectured at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and has been actively researching "the Wellness model" of health over the past two years. This has led him to self-experiment by following a "Paleo diet", run in Vibram Fivefingers, and you will hence regularly see him practicing barefoot!
He leads the weekly practice Philosophy meetings, where all practitioners are challenged to do the best job possible for the patients, ensuring that Care for Health has earned a reputation for excellence and good working relationships with local GPs and Surgeons alike.
A competitive cyclist with a history of Road-racing and having completed most major European Cyclosportives (including 5 "Etape du Tours"), he is now back in competition on the Velodrome. When time allows him he answers the "Ask the Chiropractor" column in Cycling Plus Magazine, was the Ergonomics and Technical Consultant to a Bespoke Titanium Bicycle Company, founded the local cycling Club "VC Godalming and Haslemere" and now races first claim for VC Meudon. He has extensively cycle-toured Europe, has both solo-toured and guided other cyclists around Death Valley (USA), and regularly takes on Cycling feats in far-away lands such as India!
Having grown up in the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland, he is also a keen mountaineer, having completed expeditions in the Himalaya, Rockies, and Alps; however his relaxing weekends are generally spent hill-walking in Snowdonia.
A sporting history from competitive Show-jumping horses to Adventure-Racing, to being the President of his University Kickboxing club equips Dr Duffy with a hard-to-match understanding of how injury can affect all aspects of sporting life.
