Exciting news – Care For Health are now sponsoring the premier league basketball club, Guildford Heat. In a sponsorship package worth over £8000, we have been working with the team to help them to improve their performances. The players are already reaping the benefits - within a couple of weeks of our involvement, Guildford Heat won three games in quick succession!
Alison Reeve, owner of Guildford Heat, has big plans for the club; “As new owner of the club, I am determined to do all I can to help the players in terms of their performance levels. I am hugely competitive and want the team to consistently deliver winning performances. I am hugely grateful for the support of Care for Health and believe they will be key to our future success.”
Nutrition, mental attitude and preparation
After Alison took over just weeks ago, the Care for Health Performance team have assessed the players designed a short-term plan, and delivered training to support the teams performance in three key areas;
• Mental Approach
• Performance Nutrition
• Conditioning and Performance Logistics
Dominic Keohane, our High Performance Coach, has been doing both 1:1 sessions and team sessions to improve mental preparation. Alex Haddow, former professional footballer, has been helping the players with their warm ups and game preparation. And Glenn Duffy, practice principal at Care for Health, has been implementing performance nutritional strategies and coordinating the project. But we have only just scratched the surface of what we can potentially do for the team.
In the longer-term we plan to focus on a more strategic and complete approach in order to increase the Heat’s competitiveness on court and help all players deliver winning performances.
“The Guildford Heat players are some of the best basketball players in the UK. As we continue to work with them in areas such as biomechanics and look at how their joints work, I know that we can make them faster and play a huge role helping them to become one of the top teams in the BBL league.” – Glenn Duffy
